| Fire Engineering magazine recently recognized the efforts and professionalism of the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department by having our members participate in a series of training videos that were filmed in Oakland. These training videos will become part of Fire Engineering's web site to allow members from around the Country view and learn from situations filmed with members of the OVFD.

The lead instructor for the video training session was Lt. Michael Ciampo who is a currently a member of Ladder 45 in the Washington Heights neighborhood of the Borough of Manhattan. Prior to joining FDNY, Michael was a member of the District of Columbia Fire Department and also a member of the Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department. Mike has a Bachelor's degree in Fire Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and is a lead instructor for the Fire Department Instructors Conference and an editorial advisor for contributing editor for Fire Engineering magazine.
