By Firefighter Doug Hansen
April 1, 2011

In the area of 10:20pm Thursday night, dispatch received a 911 call reporting the sound of a loud bang around the area of OLPH Church. Soon after, another call came in reporting it as a single car MVA near the intersection of Seminole and Perdue. Officers on scene reported a car into a utility pole with two victims and confirmed entrapment. Firefighters stabilized the car using wood cribbing, and contained a small spill coming from the engine block as other firefighters used the hurst tools to remove both the driver and passenger doors to free the victims, as EMTs of the Oakland First Aid Squad attended to their injuries. Both victims were transported to the Hackensack University Medical Center. The members of the Oakland Fire Dept and the Oakland First Aid Squad did a great job freeing and treating the victims.

Units: Fire 1030, 1040, 1050, 1044, 1034, 1042, OFAS 802, 803, Police 101, 103, 108 & 105
