The Ramapo Valley Baptist Church held a service today honoring the Oakland Fire Department's 100 years of dedication, sacrifice and service to the community. Chistine Lovette, her music, and chorale members accompanied the celebration. The worship was led by Pastor HerbW. Dorfmann with OFD's own chaplain, Russ Stammer recognizing the achivements and selflessness of the department. The fellowship of Christian Firefighters said a few words. The children got into the act listening to Russ speak of what it takes to go into a burning building to rescue people, relating it to God. The children were given plastic fire helmets and checked out the fire trucks after the service.
