Early Morning Blaze In Franklin Lakes

By Chief Peter Sondervan
August 5, 2008

Approximately 2:40am,The Oakland Fire Department was dipatched to Seminole Drive, in Franklin Lakes.1030 and 1040 were in service simultaneously. 1030 was put in charge of establishing a water supply and 1040 went right to the address. Water supply was critical because the area of town where the fire was had no hydrants . 1.2 miles of 5 inch hose was deployed from 4 different Franklin lakes engines. FL 333 was at the hydrant and Wyckoff 233 was half way to the scene as a relay suppling FL 331. Franklin Lakes Chief also had a tanker shuttle going while the supply line was being set up.Once water pressure was boosted by the water company there was plenty of water to do the job . 1031 crew went right to the scene and assisted in extinguishing the fire.

Congratulations for a job well done by Franklin Lakes FD !!
