Today, members of the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department, Ladies Auxiliary, Oakland Police Department and Bloomingdale Police Department remembered our dear friend and brother – Gary Walker.

OVFD Chaplain Russell Stammer, who is also Pastor of Ramapo Valley Baptist Church, led a wonderful service in honor of Gary that was held during the Sunday service at the Ramapo Valley Baptist Church.

Gary passed away one year ago on April 24th due to complication from Covid-19. He left behind his loving wife Danielle and his daughter Demi, whom he cherished greatly. There almost wasn’t a time when you would talk to Gary and he wouldn’t be beaming about Demi or Danielle.

Gary was a 33-year member of the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department and a 20-year member of the Bloomingdale Police Department.

We would like to thank Pastor Russ and the entire congregation at Ramapo Valley Baptist Church for doing us proud in the way you honored Gary’s memory. We would also like to thank the Oakland Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary, the Oakland Police Department, and the Bloomingdale Police Department for attending the service in honor of Gary.
