The members of the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department send our thoughts and prayers to the Spring Valley NY Fire Department on the loss of one of their firefighters who died while trying to save residents during an early morning fire on March 23rd. The fire occurred at an assisted living facility.

We also pray for a speedy recovery for the two firefighters and ten residents who were injured, and mourn the loss of one resident who passed away.
