On Friday May 6 the Oakland FD Softball Team took on the defending champions of the league East Rutherford FD in East Rutherford. Conditions for the game were not ideal as the players dealt with a steady misting rain the entire game. Despite the poor weather conditions the boys from Oakland prevailed with a 24-17 victory. The victory was sparked by a well rounded effort by all members at the plate even scoring 10 runs in 1 inning. Our ace pitcher Jack also over came the rain and delivered a solid performance against a tough East Rutherford offense. The victory brings Oakland's record to 3-0. Oakland's next game will be home on Sunday May 15 against Mahwah FD.
