Our newest addition to the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department, Junior Firefighter Ethan Leroy, pictured here with his father Curt, mother Kristin and Mayor Linda Schwager, adds to his families long tradition of public service as he becomes a 4th generation fireman.

Ethan's father Curt is presently chief of the OVFD and has 30 years of service as a firefighter. His mother Kristin is an EMT with the Oakland First Aid Squad and his brothers Tyler and Cody are both firefighters for Company 1 with 7 and 4 years of service respectively.

The family tradition runs deep starting with his great grandfather who was a past Chief of the Wyckoff Fire Department with 60 years of service, his grandfather was also an ex firefighter in Wyckoff (35 years), his uncle is the past Chief with the Wyckoff Fire Department and still currently serving as a firefighter in Wyckoff (37 years), another uncle is an ex firefighter from Wyckoff (6 years) and his cousin is currently a captain of Norriton Fire Engine Company, Norriton P.A. (15 years).
