At 11:15 am the Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on I-287 South at mile marker 57.6. The accident was initially reported as a vehicle that rolled over.

Once emergency service personnel arrived on scene it was determined that the vehicle did not roll over, but had struck a tractor trailer then the jersey barrier. All occupants had exited the vehicle on their own, were evaluated by members of the Oakland First Aid Squad and injuries found to be minor.

The Oakland Fire Department secured the vehicle, cleared the roadway of the spilled fluids and assisted the New Jersey State Police in moving the vehicle from the left lane and onto the right shoulder so the roadway could be reopened.

Units: Asst. Chiefs 1040, 1050, Engine 1031, Oakland Police and First Aid Squad.
