On Sunday, January 5th the Oakland fire department and Oakland first aid squad responded to a call for a capsized salt truck on the intersection of Lakeside Boulevard and Forest Street.

The Franklin Lakes DPW truck was out spreading salt on the roads due to the icy rain that has been falling since late in the afternoon. The truck spilled its contents onto Lakeside Boulevard as it flipped on its side. A crew from the Franklin Lakes DPW arrived they righted the truck with the help of a frontend loader.

Also responding to the call were members of the Franklin Lakes fire department and first aid squad. No serious injuries were reported.
