This year's 10th annual Wallington Holiday Parade proved to be yet another enjoyable experience for the Oakland Fire Department. An impressive showing was made for this year's event with Company 3's award-winning Fire Department Bus(previously winning the "Special Judges Award") and with 1044 pulling a wonderfully-decorated float. The Wallington Holiday Parade has always been one of the most enjoyable events of the Christmas Season, serving as an excellent transition to get the OFD prepared for its annual Santa Claus event(See "Santa Claus is Coming to Oakland).

To recap some of the highlights, this year's line-up of well-decorated, perhaps over-the-top, trucks was very interesting. One of the departments personal favorites was from the Emerson Fire Department. Their extremely elaborate float was modeled in the likeness of a helicopter(See Pic).

Jefferson Township also had an impressive float complete with comfortable chairs, a podium of sorts, and a faux chimney.

While the picture fails to capture it in its full glory, the Glen Rock Fire Department had a portable movie theater on their float!

So, that's a quick recap of the 2011 Wallington Holiday Parade. The Oakland Fire Department always enjoys this event and looks forward to attending next year's!
