Just about midnight, a call came in for a working fire at Ramapo Lodge Motel on Ramapo Valley Road. Rapid response from both companies averted serious extension of the fire. The arriving teams found a heavy smoke condition and a small fire in the wall. The teams worked from both exterior and interior to access the burning materials and created a door-sized hole in the structure. The flames and smoldering debris were quickly extinguished, doused, and overhauled.
