Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the site and the opportunity to see a few pictures of my father. He loved the department nearly as much as he loved his family. Thank you for the walk down memory lane.

The Department and equipment we now have in Oakland is terrific, and I hope more people understand the sacrifices made by you men. My Dad Ed Costigaqn was a firefighter and past chief. I remember the many nights that the "box" would go off and off he went,Then to come home and go to work in the city. I have very found memories of the OFD, from picnics to the carnivals. Joe Gallup gave me my first job! Congradulations on 100 years! I wish I could go back and celebrate with you.
