On Tuesday, May 2nd, Ethan LeRoy graduated from the Bergen County Fire Academy having passed the Firefighter One training program.

Chief Lawrence Rauch, Coordinator of Safety programs, presided over the graduation of over 90 firefighters with Welcome comments coming from Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco III.

Ethan continues a long LeRoy family tradition by becoming a firefighter, and a 4th generation fireman. Ethan's father Curt is a past Chief of the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department and has over 30 years of service as a firefighter and his brothers Tyler and Cody are both firefighters for Company 1.

The family tradition runs deep starting with his great-grandfather who was a past Chief of the Wyckoff Fire Department with 60 years of service, his grandfather was also an ex-firefighter in Wyckoff (35 years), his uncle is the past Chief with the Wyckoff Fire Department and still currently serving as a firefighter in Wyckoff (37 years), another uncle is an ex-firefighter from Wyckoff (6 years) and his cousin is currently a captain of Norriton Fire Engine Company, Norriton P.A. (15 years).
