ON Friday, May 29th, the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department was visited by the Student Government of our Valley Middle School. The Student Government were given instruction and information on the various truck apparatus and equipment that the Fire Department uses to help protect our Community. Additionally the students were given a chance to use a fire hose so that they could get a better understanding of the force that comes through a hose when in use and to have a little fun as well.

It was a great pleasure to host the students and their teachers at Company 1 and many thanks to all of the members of the Department that came out to help with this event.
